Imagine being a woman in the 1800’s. Your parents would most likely say to you that when you grow up you must get married, have kids, and take care of the house. Suddenly your husband dies and the first thing that usually comes to mind is what will I do next? But this is not the case for Mrs. Mallard. In the short story “Story of an Hour” by Kate Chopin, the author creates a character who seems strange at first, but after some research that person makes perfect sense.
Mrs. Mallard has just heard the news of her husband’s death. To most women, their hearts would be inconsolable and their minds would probably not think properly, but Mrs. Mallard does not act this way. The first thing that comes to her mind is freedom. Now most people would think; man that is one strange person, but I fully understand her. Let’s imagine that two people are married in a rough relationship for a long time. Even though now you can divorce, if you divorce back then it would look odd. Everyone would think that you are a weird person and that you might just have married him/her for his/her money or other evil reasons. Therefore when Mrs. Mallard heard that her husband she almost instantly thought of freedom. Back in the 1800’s any women were in the same situation, but they would try to remarry someone else so they would not be the ugly duckling. In conclusion, this is the reason why Mrs. Mallard dies in the end of the story when she hears that her husband is alive.
The author Kate Chopin creates such a distinctive character in the short story “The Story of an Hour”, that without further research you might not be able to fully understand Mrs. Mallard. While being with a soul mate is great, you might just have endless possibilities if you don’t have one for a while.

The Battle on the Deserted island
On a deserted island, in the middle of Pacific, a battle rages on between Kosdarliitaria and the United States of America. Both sides were evenly matched, but the United States had the upper hand.
One day Kosdarliitaria was about to surrender when the president Sri said, “Unleash the secret weapon!!!” Suddenly out of the blue, there came out an immense unit measuring, 2.5 kosdars (25 miles) by 2.5 kosdars (25 miles). The United States troops were in awe, they have never saw such a massive artillery unit in their life.
Sri then said, “ATTACK!”
“Yes my master”, said the troops.
General Kod then said, “Unleash the droids from the robot making unit”. The massive unit unleashed 500 robot droids that started killing, every single person in their way. For every one minute that passed 5 soldiers had died. In was a tragic day full of death and hunger to kill the other country. After about four hours, the president of the United States got so upset that he calls for his secret weapon.
Even though the Americans were outnumbered 2000- 1025, they had 25 Jedi’s. The master Jedi, KODSR BAPEW of the planet Advil, had four light sabers and killed about 5 robot droids/ troops per minute. His Padawan, REARE LAKEN of the planet Xanax, was killing a very impressive 2 droids/ troops per minute. The robot droids/ troops had no chance against the experienced Jedis. The American whooped Kosdarliitaria troops, and after some about 5 hours of pure massacre both side retreated to camp.
On the final day of the battle the count totals were, 999 robot droid (one droid didn’t get fixed right), 900 super droids, 1 robot droid making unit, 750 kosdar troops, and 10 evil Jedi masters against 850 American troops, 50 Jedi masters and 750 clone troopers. They battle was fierce, and blood and robot parts was all over the place but in the end the United States Army had won the war and got the island that we know today has Hawaii. Even though the Americans were outnumbered they had the heart and the guts to win Hawaii. The battle of Kosdars was the most epic battle the world will ever know in the day years to come.

Art Analyze
According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary Art has many meaning including, “1 : skill acquired by experience, study, or observation 2 a : a branch of learning: (1) : one of the humanities (2) plural : LIBERAL ARTS b archaic : LEARNING, SCHOLARSHIP 3 : an occupation requiring knowledge or skill 4 a : the conscious use of skill and creative imagination especially in the production of aesthetic objects; also : works so produced b (1) : FINE ARTS (2) : one of the fine arts (3) : a graphic art 5 a archaic : a skillful plan b : the quality or state of being artful 6 : decorative or illustrative elements in printed matter”. Art should really be defined as one’s way to express there feelings. The art piece Red, Yellow, Blue II, 1965 by Ellsworth Kelly is a very simple piece when you look at it at first but then you realize how much struggle the artist went through.
For many people painting red, yellow, and blue on three identical pieces of canvas is easy, but painting them on three 82 x 189 in perfectly in really impressive. No matter how much you look you can’t find a painter’s flaw. All the marks I did found though were most probably caused by transit. Also you can’t see any marks of the paintbrush; it almost looks like a computer did it. Therefore the artist Ellsworth Kelly is a very impressive artist that knows how to paint a piece of art that looks like a computer did it.

Each one combine with one another would create the colors of a rainbow. Also Ellsworth Kelly liked to reduce pictorial elements to simple shapes and fields of uninflected color. School Electives
For many students electives are a way to expand their learning experience at Asa Clark. Some may also think of elective as a way to choose what their future jobs might be. This is why Asa Clark Middle School needs to add more electives for their students to choose.
With more electives, students will find out what they want to learn for college faster. If we have a Creative Writing class are future author can start early and finish strong. Then if we had a class to learn basic programming on the computer our future computer engineer will stand out. Also, it will help enhance the learning experience at Asa Clark Middle School. Many people might also send their kids who go to other school here, which will help gain more money for the school.
Some arguments against this phenomenal idea are that they’re not enough teachers and that it will cost too much. Public Schools already get enough money to hire more than enough teachers. Also many teachers have multiple free periods, which they can use to teach other classes of their preference.
If we add more elective to Asa Clark’s list it shall be more of a sophisticated school. Just as Uncle Sam would say “I want you to add more electives to the schools elective program.

The laptop initiative in Asa Clark has so far been an outstanding program. It has helped many students with their learning experience. However, in order to help not only the students but the teachers in this program, the School needs to let the students take their laptops home.
Even though teachers in Asa Clark middle school think the students are scatterbrained, absent-minded, or neglectful, one teacher, Mr. Felsar thinks that taking the laptops home is a great idea. It would help his class because than he will almost go paperless in his class. Since all the schools in the district are trying to “go green” this is a perfect way to reduce paper. With the laptops all homework can be done on it. We would be saving 100 sheets of paper each day.
Taking the laptops home will help not only the teachers, but also the students. Even though they might have computers at home, the students might not have some programs used at school. One of the most commonly used applications in the school is OneNote. This program is unlike other Microsoft applications; you have to buy it separate. At my home we have the basic Microsoft office set. This include all the Microsoft programs we use in school except OneNote, the most used one. This is why we need our laptops at home.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time
Imagine a family with a dad, a mom and an autistic teenager. Usually the parents would have a better bonding in order to help the teenager. But in this story the mom and dad are not like two peas in a pod but like an untrained dog and cat living under the same roof. In the novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, the author, Mark Haddon, shows how three very different characters can be a wonderful family.
Christopher’s mom plays an important role in Christopher’s life during two periods, baby to toddler and young adult and onward. When Christopher was going through his early stages of his life his mom was trying to help as much as possible. For example on pages 106 and 107 mom tells about the situation that happened when they went Christmas shopping. While she tried to full extinct to get Christopher out of there, it was Christopher who did not let her do it. Therefore, it has come to my consensus that it was Christopher who made mom go away, because that night was when the trouble erupted between mom and dad. Since all this happened, she went to London with Mr. Shears.
Even though Christopher’s Mom was not that close with Christopher, Christopher’s dad was almost as close to Christopher as peanut butter and jelly on bread. Christopher’s dad mostly affected Christopher during the period that his mom was in London. He always use to take care of him during the times that Christopher and his mom were not doing well together. For example on page 107 it says, “… your father was really nice about it at first and he made you supper and he put you to bed and he said these things happen and it would be OK.” He was like a person willing to answer anything about anything because he was just that patient with Christopher’s Mom. Therefore Christopher’s dad and mom were made for each other because one had no tolerance at all and the other was a person willing to listen to the world most mind-numbing lecture.
While Christopher’s dad and mom are blabbing away, Christopher is the one stuck in the middle of everything. Christopher, an autistic young adult, is trying to overcome his disability throughout the process. On pages 212 he is taking the test when he thinks this, “… I couldn’t think how to answer any o the questions and also I couldn’t breathe properly. And I wanted to hit somebody or stab them with my Swiss army knife, But there wasn’t anyone to hit or stab with my Swiss Army Knife except the Reverend Peters and he was very tall and if I hit him or stabbed him with my Swiss Army knife he wouldn’t be my invigilator for the rest of the exam. So I took deep breaths like Siobhan said I should do when I want to hit someone in school and I counted 50 breaths and did cubes of the cardinal numbers like this …” He is showing that even though he is having test problems because of his autism, he is not willing to pass on such a impressive opportunity for him to have a more enhanced schooling experience, which is really great thing to do for an autistic kid.

Speak Essay
Imagine being at your first day of high school. Usually you would find your friends, talk with them, find what classes you’re in together etc. But for Melinda, all her friends have run away from their posse or just started to be Melinda’s friend. In the book Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, the author shows how three very different people become or don’t become friends with a sad, depressed high-schooler.
One of the three “friends” that Melinda has is Ivy. Ivy is not your normal buddy. She can be as cold as ice with you at the beginning and as warm as the sun once she really knows you. For example in the section “Wishbone”, Ivy at the beginning tries to outsmart Melinda by staying for one more class period. Even though she did that, Ivy complements Melinda nicely at the end of the section for her “creative” turkey bone artwork. How can such a character do such a thing like that? Hate you friends at first and accept them later. It is just not right in such a book. Therefore, I think Ivy doesn’t have or got kicked out of a group so she is acting nice around Melinda.
Rachelle on the other hand is nothing like Ivy; she pretty much hates Melinda from start to finish. Throughout the whole book both Rachelle and Melinda never really have a conversation until the section called “Communication 101”. Even though Melinda tells her the truth she can’t accept it. Adding to that she screams at Melinda, lies to librarian, and goes to the nurse’s room. Therefore, Rachelle never really was a “true” friend with Melinda, because she never really accepts Melinda for who she really is.
While Rachelle never is Melinda’s friend, Heather acts like one throughout some of the book. To most people there first impression on Heather is a nice, sweet girl to hang out with and both of you can have a jolly good time together. But Heather is probably #1 on the World’s Worst Friend’s List. All she does is use Melinda, get rid of her, and “hang out” with the biggest snobs a person could know. During the end of the book she tries to go back to Melinda, try to be a friend with her, and use her artistic talents. She never ever will have “true” friends unless she stops doing that. Therefore, Heather is probably a bigger loner than Melinda will ever be.
